Exoplanet Systems

This chart depicts a heliocentric view of confirmed exoplanet systems, centered on the Sun and looking outward into the stellar geography around us. Use the view filter to switch between datasets, and the slider at the bottom to observe the accumulation of exoplanet discoveries over time.

How to read this chart The Sun sits at the center and distance increases outward in light-years. Stars are placed around the circle according to the direction they appear in the sky from Earth. The outer markers point toward familiar sky references such as Polaris, Orion, and the Milky Way's center. Each star system is labeled with the number of confirmed exoplanets it contains.
